The Great Need
In today's modern world, with its rampant proliferation of largely untested health-hostile chemicals into every nook and cranny of our lives and our environment, there is such a great need for quality information, advice and support on the physical reality of chemical injury and its many manifestations. The most common of those manifestations is arguably Multiple Chemical Sensitivity - or simply MCS for short. MCS-UK.Org was created to try and fulfil those needs and it has a five-fold plan for achieving this.
To Inform
The main reason why so many people worldwide, of all ages, from all walks of life and across all social and ethnic groups, are falling ill - sometimes very seriously and even fatally - with some form of chemical injury or another is largely down to simple ignorance. For some this ignorance will be seasoned with a generous measure of disbelief with regard to just how dangerous many of these toxic, synthetic chemicals actually are to our health; especially in their synergistic interactions - the permutations of which are probably incalculable. And yet, strangely, this "synergistic effect" is given virtually no legal, political, or medical consideration whatsoever. Good quality information - widely and wisely dispersed - can change all of that.
To Warn
It is impossible to escape modern synthetic chemicals. They are, quite literally, everywhere from the highest and most remote of mountain peaks to the darkest depths of our deepest seas and oceans. By way of an excellent example and an initial opener; do you know that among the catalogue of dangerous chemicals that have been found in our drinking water the testers even found Prozac!
To Share
Sadly, all too often the only real help the chemically injured ever get comes to them - if it comes at all - via their own personal research and self help measures. If the sufferer is lucky then truly understanding help and support from familly and friends may also be available; surprisingly though, this is often not the case. This is why "sharing" among experienced sufferers is so particularly important in the MCS community. Consequently, MCS-UK will offer a wide platform for such "sharing" in as many ways as it possibly can. Will you help us with that?
To Support
The outright disbelief, the creeping alienation and the self-esteem sapping stigmatisation that often accompanies Multiple Chemical Sensitivity ( MCS ) and other forms of Chemical Injury ( CI ) stops right here at MCS-UK - even if that is only for duration of your most welcome visit. At MCS-UK we totally affirm the often devastating physical reality of your illness and we will always seek to support you in any and every way that we can. Initially, this will take the form of providing a range of quality information relating to the multi-level realities of MCS and other forms of chemical injury. Personal support will also be available via telephone and email and soon MCS-UK's "MCS Forum" will offer round-the-clock support via its online community. MSC-UK members will also have access to our news-letters, the "Members Only" section of the site, and means of contact with other MCS suffers who have expressed a desire for it.
To Network
No one group or organization, however dedicated and effective, will ever manage to achieve the fundamental and sweeping multi-level changes necessary to save us all from drowning in a nightmarish, synergistic sea of manufactured toxic chemicals. To really impact on these enormous problems we need to share and network; then we need to network our networks. We need to unify under a common-cause banner - a banner that honours and respects our individual differences whatever they may be. MCS-UK will work constantly towards that greater unity - because at heart the Chemically Injured all want the same things.
